The Benefits of Certifying Your Youth Court
The certification process is designed to give youth courts direction for developing and operating effective programs, with the ultimate purpose of increasing program accountability and integrity.
Certified youth courts are covered under the "Liability" section of the Youth Court Diversion Act, Section 78A-6-1206.
- Youth Courts must be certified in order to become a member of the Utah Youth Court Association. UYCA members receive discounts on state conference fees and UYCA resources.
- Certified youth courts are listed on the state websites.
- The Youth Court Board provides a list of certified Youth Courts to the Board of Juvenile Court Judges, all law enforcement agencies in the state, all school districts, and the Utah Prosecution Council each year.
